EXTERNAL COUNTERPULSTATION (ECP) SYSTEM FROM Scottcare
The NICORE ECP system provides an opportunity to treat and improve the quality of life for cardiac patients who are refractory to medications and who are not candidates for surgical revascularization.
ECP is designed to imrove heart function by increasing blood flow to the heart muscle and decreasing the heart's workload. Clinical studies have shown that ECP improves the balance between the amount of oxygen the heart needs and the amount it recieves. Researches have theorizes that the effects of ECP stimulate collateral blood vessel development within the heart, providing alternative pathways around blocked coronary arteries.
